Waiting for the world to fall
Desiree sat in her bed, back against the headboard and arms limp at her sides, trying not to just immediately fall asleep. She didn't remember how long ago Kelsie left to get Jesse, but she figured they'd be back soon enough. That would mean no more pain. And that would be very nice, yes. She groaned, still a bit delirious, and lifted a hand to hold her still-bleeding shoulder. She winced at the contact, but shouldn't she be trying to apply pressure? Right, something like that... Okay. No more thinking.
With a faint groan, she dropped her arm once more, slumped lower against the headboard and closed her eyes. So much pain... The sooner Jesse arrived, the better.
