we both know the mirror's cracked and everybody's in the act...
[Desiree is feeling very unsettled. Currently, she's standing in what seems to look an awful lot like her bedroom, but she knows it isn't. There are two reasons this isn't her room: One, she doesn't have that many pillows on her bed - she used to, but not anymore. 2) Only seconds ago, she was in a dressing room at a high-end clothing store. So how did she get here...?
She hears something (Someone? You?) moving in the hallway outside. She squeezes into the space between the open door and the wall, wincing a bit when the door's hinges creeeeaak loudly. Still, she positions herself where she can peer through the crack. She waits and watches - and if danger is approaching, she knows exactly how she's getting the heck out of here...]
((OoC: Voice test! She's a shapeshifter, you've been warned. Be gentle?))

No way, I saw you this morning before I left the house. You were going to help Kelsie with something-or-other.
[It's said with a kind of "Psh, no, you're just wrong," matter-of-fact kind of tone.]

Really?

Yeah. Really.

So you're not looking for me.
no subject
No. I mean, I saw you this morning. It's only been a few hours. And besides, you were going to be with Kelsie, so...

This... is bad. This is really bad.

Incredibly. However, it's also a way out, so we should take what we can get.
no subject
Right. Better than nothing.
[And with that, she turns to where the emergency ladder is rigged against the wall. She tries to use the hand crank to lower it, but it's slow-going. So, action-movie style, she gives it a good kick and it quickly drops the rest of the way down.
She gives Vince a self-satisfied half-grin and motions for him to go on ahead.]

It's like there's nothing out there whatsoever... This is so stupid. How did we get here?

He keeps moving down, already having gotten enough of an eyeful before he even started. ] Maybe we're dealing with a teleporter, or an illusionist, or... I have no idea, honestly.

[She mumbles and goes back to climbing downward. She hates talking herself in circles...]

Could be a team. Working toward a common goal and all that.

[When she gets close enough to the bottom, she decides she's had enough climbing and just drops the last few feet.]
And you know, maybe they didn't. Maybe the other two are stuck somewhere similar.
no subject
But not here?
