Just have to find another place to go

[Sherlock has decided that he likes whatever this place is - a replication of his apartment, yes, but it has just the right mix of quiet and chaos going on in the background that he can get some proper thinking done. And God knows he has a lot of thinking to do right now.

He sits on one end of the couch, hands together and resting beneath his chin, eyes closed. The observant will notice just how tense he is, as if he's expecting something to happen. The ridiculously observant may notice the small spots on the left side of his collar - dried blood stains, there for days at least. And those with a sort of "sixth sense" or whatever for odd things? Well... maybe you can figure it out.

He just sits, unmoving, for now. How long can a person keep this up, exactly...?]

[Yeah, she really don't know how to go about stating this, and ends up subconsciously placing a hand on the side of her neck as she thinks.]

Nevermind, it's not important. You just seemed... tense.

[His eyes flick to her hand. She gathered? Better than most people. Congrats, Kirachi, you get a point in his book. Cherish it. It's a rare thing.

He lowers his hands, straightens up a bit and actually looks at her.]

Yes, of course.

So... you're aware of, ah...

[She realizes where her hand is, currently, and crosses her arms in front of her.]

The bites?

[He's silent for a moment, then sighs and looks off to the side.]

Yes. I find it's becoming increasingly difficult not to be aware of them.

That's... a problem. [She bites her lip.] How long have you...?

It is. [Pause.] A few days.

Long enough to be annoying, I'm sure. Have you fed at all?

[He closes his eyes again, and snaps:] No.

... That's even more of a problem. I'm assuming that's why you're so tense?

I do assume that's part of it, yes. It's also somewhat troubling to be faced with a problem like this having had no prior knowledge to anything of the sort before.

Troubling sounds like an understatement. Unfortunately, I've... never dealt with something like this, so I don't have anything to share that you haven't already figured out.

I wouldn't expect you to be able to share anything. I'm perfectly aware that I likely won't get answers unless I piece them together myself, or I find the one responsible.

You'd be surprised. I've known people who've dealt with this, you might run into someone eventually who knows.

[A pause, while he thinks on that.] I suppose you're right. It would more likely happen here than it would there.

More likely...? You're new here, then? Yeah, it's probably much more likely here than... wherever you were before.

This is my first time here. I suppose that makes me new, yes.

Then, welcome to this... mess. Although it'd be nicer under better circumstances.

There are better circumstances to finding this place? Hmm. I was beginning to think the events were all related. But perhaps not.

There can be. I've known several people who've come under horrible circumstances, and a fair number who haven't. It varies from person to person.

And how did you come, then?

Stumbled across this place a long time ago, decided I didn't like it, left, came back a handful of times before eventually staying here for good due to not really having a choice. Long story.

And still, the place grew on you. [It's not much of a question.]

Is it obvious? [She laughs at that.] I still hate it sometimes, but I've definitely gained reasons to enjoy it here.

[Now his hand is unconsciously going toward his neck, but he pulls it away again when he feels the scar and runs it through his hair instead.]

This wasn't even real until four days ago. Just stories.

In my tone? [Another small laugh.] Yes, I guess it would be.

You don't have vampires where you came from, then? You're rather lucky.
