Ryotarou? I made some food for you, if you're hungry. [standing, apron on, with a tray in his hands] I thought you might like some company.

I hope you like it. [trying to find something to do while Ryotarou is eating, he doesn't really want to pester him right now — at least not while he's eating — unless Ryotarou expresses an interest in talking first]

I'm sure I will. [starts to dig in a little, but doesn't wolf it down or anything] ... Say, Deneb, what have you been up to lately?

Not very much, really. Trying to learn more about this place. What about you?

Have you learned anything interesting? [pause to eat a little more while he thinks] Mm... not much. Something happened earlier today back on the Astral Plane, but.. [shruuuuuuug]

No, most everyone either doesn't know anything or won't say what they know.

Ah... Who have you tried asking?

[pause] It's hard to explain... Misaki-san was acting strangely, and it looked like she was in a fight or something. I asked her what had happened, but when I got close...

Puck, Desire, Zell, Wufei, and, ahh.. White.

I don't think I've met any of them before.

[takes a few more bites before he answers >->] She said the Twins had brought her back from the dead, and as something non-human. ... Whatever it was, whatever she had been doing, it felt like... I couldn't stay awake. The closer she got, the harder it was to stay awake. I think she started humming, but.. I could be making that part up.

They are all very unique.

She made you fall asleep? Are you okay? [moves much closer, trying to see if there's anything wrong with Ryotarou that he can fix]

In a good way, I hope.

[tilts his head and scoots the chair away a little] S-she did, but I'm fine. Really, Deneb. Just... it was odd, is all.

[one last look before he accepts Ryotarou's reassurance — but he's going to be on the look out for anything that shows otherwise] Why would she do something like that?

Is there anyone else around to ask?

[looks down at his food and pokes at it a bit] Because... she wasn't human anymore. Apparently she's.. some sort of emotionless being now. I'm not sure.

There are, but most of them have been busy so I haven't been able to ask them yet.

And that's because someone brought her back from the dead?

Ah... I guess that makes sense.

The Twins, yeah. I don't know why they would do that, though, except that apparently they run experiments on everyone, and... it may amuse them to do it.

Experiments? What kind of experiments?

Well... Mu-san told me that once, monsters showed up and started to attack people, but they were taken care of... And that they found themselves mixed up in other peoples' realities instead of their own. And recently, a lot of everyone's friends have gone missing from their realities and showing up somewhere else... but from what I've heard, without their regular appearances or memories.

More has probably happened than just that, but those are the only things that I've heard of.

That sounds terrible!! Is there anyone trying to stop them?

I... don't know. I'm not sure anyone can. I guess I need to learn more about the Astral Plane, but most people don't seem bothered by it all when stuff like that isn't going on.

It might be partially that, well... I don't know what could be done against people who can do things like that.
