[Riku's far too used to musespace doing strange things, and with all this talk of tropics, palm trees, beaches... he should have expected this. He didn't, though.
He was seriously just trying to teleport back to his house, having just finished a long day at work for the guild, but no. He's somehow managed to end up in the lobby of a huge, five-star hotel that... well, from the looks of it, seems to be set on a tropical island. In fact, the ocean is in plain view right out the back window.
He sighs heavily, one hand on his hip.]
No point complaining. I wonder how long I'm stuck here...

Kill you? Why? And how would he? When Sora woke up, you became part of him.
no subject
Don't be stupid... You can't take two people and make them into one person. That's why he wanted to get rid of me. He said I was a liability!
no subject
You're not the Roxas I know. [It's more like he's muttering to himself, but it's perfectly audible.]
no subject
You don't even know me!
no subject
I think that's what I just said.
no subject
No, I mean— you know Sora. You're his friend!
no subject
I know. I'm trying to explain that we're not from the same... world. Universe. Whatever. The Roxas I know is a Nobody. Not his own person. A part of Sora. [A pause and a Look to let that (hopefully) sink in.] You're not the Roxas I know.
no subject
He cycles through a few different arguments before he settles on the one thing he doesn't understand.]
... I thought there was only one world.
no subject
There are infinite worlds. And sometimes, that means different versions of the same people. I'm not the Riku you fought. You aren't the Roxas that... disappeared when my friend woke up.
[Clearly. Because he's standing right there, sending this feeling through Riku like he's talking to a ghost from the wrong end of his past. He's trying to hide the slight pang of guilt he feels by looking around, at the floor, out the window... at anything but Roxas.]
no subject
[He steps closer, shying away from the other—and steps up to the back sliding glass window instead.]
I guess—I guess you're right.
There's too much... sky. I don't see any of the storms that usually surround the islands. And that's water. A lot of water. Where does it all go?
no subject
No oceans where you're from?
no subject
[He places his bare hand against the glass.]
I guess you could say I've been to the edge of the world and back. It looks a lot like this, but darker. You could fall off and no one would ever find you... kind of creepy.
no subject
So you believe me now? [It doesn't sound all that much like a question, but it is.]
no subject
... Yeah.
no subject
More than likely, you'll just end up where you were the same sort of way you just ended up here. Or, you'll find another way out of here.
[A pause... and he can't fight off the curiosity any longer.] How can you and Sora both exist, and both be... whole? [This guy is "whole," right? He definitely seems it.]
no subject
[He does react to that name, though it's a moment or two before he looks at Riku. He decides that's a bad idea and goes back to staring outside.] I wasn't... supposed to exist. All of the others tried to transfer their souls, their hearts, their memories. The originals died, so I guess it didn't happen the way they wanted it to.
But Sora's still alive. Ever since I can remember, we've been connected. His memories are my memories... but I have my own memories, too. [His hand drops from the glass.] Maybe when this is all over I'll disappear, but... I want to know him. I don't want to be him.
no subject
...When what's all over? [He's 99% sure he knows the answer to this. And he's not sure he likes that fact.]
no subject
[Roxas shakes his head.] The girl— Kairi— she's gone. Taken. He went to get her back.
no subject
Of course. He's pretty blockheaded, but he knows when he needs help.
[He feels himself tense at the mention of Kairi being taken, but remembers that the Kairi he knows is safe and sound. Still, reflexes are reflexes. He relaxes as well as he can, though. He nods, his smirk long gone by this point, back to business.]
Yeah. I remember that.
no subject
So this has happened before? On your world, I mean.
no subject
no subject
It— [he totally wasn't considering that, nope] —it doesn't matter! It's going to end differently for me anyway.
[He huffs a bit and turns back to the beach.]
no subject
Yeah. You won't disappear. Especially if you're even a little bit as stubborn as I think you are.
[He follows Roxas's gaze to the beach, finally, and shakes his head.] You could always go out there. Get a closer look.
no subject
You mean it's safe?
[He's actually being serious. ajkldjfjf]
no subject
Yeah. Completely safe. Just don't go out into the water so far that you can't swim, or something.
