we both know the mirror's cracked and everybody's in the act...
[Desiree is feeling very unsettled. Currently, she's standing in what seems to look an awful lot like her bedroom, but she knows it isn't. There are two reasons this isn't her room: One, she doesn't have that many pillows on her bed - she used to, but not anymore. 2) Only seconds ago, she was in a dressing room at a high-end clothing store. So how did she get here...?
She hears something (Someone? You?) moving in the hallway outside. She squeezes into the space between the open door and the wall, wincing a bit when the door's hinges creeeeaak loudly. Still, she positions herself where she can peer through the crack. She waits and watches - and if danger is approaching, she knows exactly how she's getting the heck out of here...]
((OoC: Voice test! She's a shapeshifter, you've been warned. Be gentle?))

He's been systematically checking the rooms, though, just in case he's not the only one here. When he notices a particular door is open... ]
Desiree?

Yeah, uh, hey... [She bites her lip as she tries to think of the best way to say "This isn't really my room," without sounding too mental. ... Failing, she just rolls with it.] Something's not right here.

After that, she goes still. Should she be getting into ass-kicking mode? Investigation mode? Should she just stay as she is? All she knows is that she doesn't like this one bit. She speaks to Vince without actually turning to look at him.]
Hey, Vince? Where's everyone else?

We should get out of here, then. Like, right now. Or we need to find out who's behind this, wherever they are, and I'll take care of it.

Desi, how much did you spend?

Travis dashes over to investigate, but he's coming from the wrong end of the hallway for Desiree to be able to see him, not that he even knows she's there. He doesn't announce himself, just moves to quickly try and step into the room.]

A few seconds later... a tiny brown mouse squeezes under the door and into the hallway before skittering away, looking for an exit.]

Conrit peeks his head in, a little hesitant. The last thing he needs is to run into someone angry and dangerous, especially without his big brother or anyone else around who could protect him. ]
Um. Hello?

Hello. What are you doing here?

[She completely moves out from behind the door and brushes off her skirt before leaning and craning her neck a bit to see if anyone is in the hallway behind him, or maybe coming their way.]
Who's everyone else?

No, I don't know where this is. They sure went out of their way to make it look just like my bedroom, though. It's weird.
I think we should get out of here. Maybe we can find your brother, too. What do you think?

Desiree. Who are you? This isn't my house... Where am I?

DI Patricia Menzies. And that's just the question I was wondering about...

[She sighs.] God, this doesn't make any sense. This is so stupid...
