It was overcast. Most nights were these days, with summer quickly approaching. It was also colder out than it should be, which Abe was none too pleased about, but he supposed it could be worse. It could be raining after all. He really hoped that thinking that wouldn't cause it to actually happen.
He pulled his jacket closer to himself as a particularly strong gust of wind kicked up behind him. This was not going to be a very productive night, he could tell already. Most sane people were definitely inside on a night like this, and it wasn't likely people would be enjoying themselves in taverns or the like with a storm threatening to come any hour now. He wondered if maybe he should just turn back and try again tomorrow. For a moment, he contemplated just breaking in somewhere, but he'd already decided he didn't want to cause any trouble, so that was out.
A window across the way caught his eye. Light - a single candle, nothing more, and it looked like it was moving. Someone was awake. Why? Curiosity got the better of him and he went in for a closer look. Maybe he'd get lucky after all...
He stood near the window, hands in his pocket, and tried to peer inside. Whoever it was hadn't noticed him yet, but whoever it was also looked very familiar. He couldn't make out the young man's features through the dim candlelight and slightly warped glass of the window, but he could definitely tell that the figure was turning to walk out. Abe backed away from the window and hid himself behind a cart. At this point, he was more interested in figuring out who this was and what he could possibly be doing awake at this hour in a tailor's shop...
